About IEW+F

Engaging research to support Indigenous wellbeing economies for future generations.

Indigenous Economic Wellbeing + Freedom (IEWF) is a research project that calls on the global community of Indigenous nation-builders, scholars, practitioners, entrepreneurs, economists, and knowledge holders to co-create and co-design Indigenous wellbeing economies for future generations.

The IEWF project is guided by three research questions that shape our curiosity:

  • How do Indigenous youth, Elders, and organizations define and achieve economic wellbeing?
  • How are current generations of Indigenous peoples looking after the economic values and freedoms of future generations?
  • How do existing economic institutions and systems protect the economic values and freedoms of future generations to ensure that they experience economic wellbeing?
